Pete has worked in the regulatory environment for local and central government for the last 16 years and is currently the Manager – Project Assessment Southern for Auckland Council.
He previously worked for The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as Manager Consent Systems responsible for the Building Code and Building Act implementation. He has been involved in all aspects of the accreditation of Building Consent Authorities, including his current role as chair of the Professional Advisory Committee for International Accreditation NZ (IANZ).
On the people side of the regulatory environment he is the Vice President of the Building Officials Institute of NZ (BOINZ) which continues to develop the professionalism of its members. Prior to being involved in regulatory matters he had 22 years experience with Carters Building Supplies in various local and national roles.
