Nick Hill is the Chief Executive of the Building Officials Institute of New Zealand (BOINZ), New Zealand’s peak body representing the Building Surveying sector.

As Chief Executive, his role is to provide the strategic leadership and expertise to the organisation ensuring it is resilient, financially sound and providing top quality service to both its membership and stakeholders.

His Institute’s vision is dedicated to improving the quality and performance of the built environment.

He is extremely passionate about lifting the public’s perception that Building Surveying is the foremost profession that safeguards building compliance and quality and therefore the ultimate financial interests of the building owner. 

Prior to assuming his role at BOINZ and driving its financial revival Nick had an extensive background in senior management and governance.

His current governance responsibilities include Past President and Honorary Life Member of the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE);  Chairman of the Australasian Certification Authority for Structural and Reinforced Steels (ACRS);  Secretary of the International Code Council’s Global Management Committee;  Current Member and Former Executive Member of New Zealand’s Construction Industry Council;  and a District Councilor for the New Zealand Automobile Association (NZAA).

Nick has previously held senior leadership roles within General Electric Company (NZ) Ltd and the Motor Trade Association of New Zealand.  Over the years he has held industry representative, advisory and chairing roles over a wide range of industry regulatory and project areas.

Nick’s sector exposure includes industrial chemicals, illumination engineering, electrical wholesaling, the motor industry and now construction.
