Growing the Building Workforce:

Increased house-building will require a larger workforce. KiwiBuild is projected to create 5,000 new jobs at its peak. This session will debate schemes such as Labour’s Dole for Apprenticeships policy which focuses on subsidising employers to take on around 4,000 young people for on the job training in fields including building and construction*. It will explore the positive impact the exponential growth in recent years of Women in Construction has made on the industry.
